Full-Scale Playground Renovation
Phase 1 is nearly done! Our playground was (lovingly) well-worn and in need of complete renovation. We are eagerly awaiting its completion and so are our students. Thank you to our generous donors who made this happen!
The Project
With a history of serving children since 1969 we our playground has been through a few renovations! The last renovation occurred in 1995 and in 2015 we identified a need for modern play space that supports what we now know children need in an outdoor space.
Phase 1
Phase 1 of our renovation will provide top of the line surfacing, new fencing, hills to run and play on, a tricycle track, and space for open ended play that gives children the space and freedom to do what they need most at this time in their lives: PLAY!
Phase 2
With Phase 1 completed in 2018 we will continue our fundraising efforts to complete Phase 2 which will add in additional props like a play house, musical instruments, art easels, and space for science outside.
In partnership with our Parent Council we have been raising money over the last four years for this project and will continue to ask for your support as we work towards Phase 2 completion in 2019.
Phase 1
The big day has arrived and demolition has begun. During our time of improvement, you may experience some inconvenience and we appreciate your patience. Students will follow a similar outdoor schedule but will access space upstairs on our 3rd floor for gross motor play.
We are hopeful that the weather will cooperate and we can complete this long-awaited project in six weeks.
Day 2 | Demo Almost Complete
Old playground equipment is being piled up to remove from the site.
Day 8 | Hills
We are finished with demolition, and the hills are going in. Next fencing and surfacing!
